What is Tapsnapp?

Tapsnapp is an online platform to help you easily find and book a photographer, based on your type of shoot, location, and requirements.

Do I pay to find a photographer?

No. You can search for photographers as many times as you want for free. You only pay for the shoot when you book it.

What if I can’t find a photographer who suits my needs?

We are constantly adding new photographers catering to different shoot types all over South Africa. If you are struggling to find somebody in your area, pop us a mail and we’ll see what we can do to best assist you.

How does this work?

You start by clicking the Book Now link. Next, select the style of photography that you require. Tell us when and where you need the photographer. And, then, specify all your criteria such as how many shots you require, the calibre of photographer you need, and how quickly you want the photos delivered. We will serve up the photographers who match your requirements with upfront pricing.

You may pick the photographer you like and book immediately (pending confirmation from the photographer), or request a proposal which invites the list of photographers to bid for your work.

Alternatively, if you know the name or profile link of the photographer you want, you can go directly to their page and book them.

Who owns the copyright to the photos?

As the customer, you will own the final edited photos that are delivered to you. The RAW/original images belong to the photographer. If you wish to do anything additional or require it to be used in particular ways, ask your photographer to ensure you can use them to your specific needs.

How do I know that the photographer I hire is legitimate and safe?

Always make sure that the photographers that you hire has a good customer rating and has been approved by Tapsnapp. Even though we cannot guarantee safety every time, we recommend meeting with your photographer in a safe, public space.

How does the payment process work?

Once you and the photographer have confirmed your booking, you pay in full for the shoot either via EFT or through major credit cards. Once the photographs have been delivered to you, the money will be released to the photographer.

What is the difference between a normal shoot and an on-demand shoot?

The normal shoots may be booked 5 days or more in advance. On-demand shoots are booked within 5 days and they have a slightly higher fee.

How do I reschedule / cancel a booking?

Shoots can only be rescheduled or cancelled if you provide more than 7 days notice, and, if cancelled, you will be refunded fully. If the cancellation is within 7 days of the shoot, you will only receive 50% of your money back.

What if I’m not happy with my photographer?

You can lodge a dispute with us within 7 days of delivery of the photographs and we will mediate between you and the photographer to resolve the issue. If the photography is not up to standard, we will refund you 50% of the shoot. Ensure that you select a photographer based on customer ratings and our recommendations so that you receive the best quality of work that you pay for.

Can I recommend a photographer to someone else?

Of course you may. Simply go to the photographer’s profile page and click the share button. You will be able to share the photographer’s details to social media or via email.

Can I buy a shoot for someone else?

Yes you may! You can buy a photography package as a gift and send to someone else. All they have to do is redeem it with us and the shoot that you chose will be booked.
